Sara and Barry's Tutbury Castle Wedding in DerbyshireOne sunny morning in early April I had the pleasure of doing the wedding photography for Sara and Barry at the beautiful Tutbury Castle in Debyshire. I'll be honest I'd never heard of this place before this wedding and when I first arrived to 'scope out' the venue prior to the wedding day I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised by the hidden gem that revealed itself from within such an unassuming place.
The wedding was a small intimate affair with a classic vintage feel and some lovely eco-touches. The bride wore a gorgeous cream satin gown with a definite vintage inspired design along with a beautiful beaded headband, simple handmade veil and her mother's antique pearl necklace.
The vintage theme continued through the flowers which were simple handtied bouquets made of locally sources roses and carnations, made by the bride's sister and finished with an antique brooch which used to belong to Sara's Great Grandmother.
The day was a relaxed, informal affair with only the couple's family and closest friends attending. This left them to really enjoy their day without the worries of the 'big occasion' and allowed me to get some beautiful wedding photographs in the castle grounds.
A super day was had by everyone and as a pure stroke of luck (I mean perfectly timed planning) the sun began to set perfectly as we all headed into Tutbury for the evening reception, allowing me to capture a few shots of our bride and groom walking off into the distance towards the beautiful sunset. Thanks for letting me share the day with you : )
